This is a summer feeding station, situated in a quiet corner of the yard, close to the brush piles. Having a crushed gravel base makes it easy to keep clean of seed hulls.

This is the same station as on the left, but looking from the other side towards the area that's been left to grow wild.

As unsightly as this may appear, it serves a definite purpose. These are two of the three brush piles I have in the yard. Each pile seems to grow every spring as tree trimming takes place. The birds absolutely love these piles, scurrying back and forth to the feeders and taking afternoon naps. My Christmas trees from many past years also end up here. Another great site to get away from those hawks!
