Where would we be
without the nemesis of most gardeners. Our furry
"friends" the
squirrels and raccoons. I have a few feeding stations set
up for the
squirrels and chipmunks, but they still manage to visit the
bird
feeders...it just takes them longer to get there.

The summer of 2004 saw a
great increase in the number of bear sightings
in our area. The bears have become regular visitors to our backyard in
search
of food. This one was caught on camera at 8:30 in the evening,
destroying
my bird feeders. It was an overcast evening, so the picture was
rather dark
and had to be brightened to get a clearer view of the bear.
The feeders are usually brought in before the bears come through, but this
one was rather early. |
