"I Feel So Guilty, But I Really Want To Go To The Party"

Dear Editor:

I have waited all year for Fred to ask me out and now he wants me to go with him to a year-end party with his graduating class. My parents say that since he is 19 years old and I am only 16, they won’t let me go. They say there will be drinking and it will be too dangerous. I just have to go or I will be laughed at by everyone in the school. My girlfriend and I have worked out a plan. I am going to tell my parents that I am spending the night at her house and sneak out to the party with Fred. My parents will never find out, but I still feel a bit guilty. What should I do?

"My Mother Is So Strict It Drives Me Crazy.
Why Won’t She Leave Me Alone?"

Dear Editor:

My mother is out of this world. She won’t let me do anything without asking a hundred questions and giving me all kinds of unwanted advice. She’s always sticking her nose in around my friends and won’t let me stay out past 11 o’clock, even on the weekend. She is too strict and won’t let me grow up. I feel like running away to escape from her. What should I do?

"I Can’t Wait To Move Away From This Dump"

Dear Editor:

Sudbury is such a terrible place to grow up. I can’t wait to move away from this dump and live in Southern Ontario. Everything is big and modern down there. Life must be wonderful in the big city.

"Dreams May Never Come True"

Dear Editor:

I have a life and dream goal of becoming a dental hygienist. I want this so badly, the problem is is that my grades are not high enough, and I have a learning disability, I don't think I will ever get into the program. I know I could do an amazing job, so should I not let this bother me, and keep pursuing my goals?

I am almost finished high school, with no chance of getting into the program in September, what should I do?

Signed: Nicole

Dear Nicole:

"You Dropped Out! Why Can't I?"

Dear Editor:

I just had a terrible fight with my mother and I need some advice. I am sick and tired of going to high school and I want to quit but my mother won't let me. She dropped out of school when she was in Grade 10 so I don't think she is being fair by forcing me to go to school if I don't want to. Please tell me what I should do. I know I am old enough to leave home, but I really don't want to go that far. Can you help me convince my mother to listen to me?

Signed: Jenny

Dear Jenny:

"Now What Do I Do?"

Dear Editor:

Hello - I'm am looking for an apprenticeship spot in the greater Sudbury city.  A three year electrical program was taken at Cambrian College and finished successfully.  Could you please advise me on where to look?

Signed: Hopeful
