Deputy Mayor Louise Portelance and Councillor Ron Dupuis invite
residents of Valley East to an "Emergency Services in Your Community
Forum" on Monday, June 9th.
The forum will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Citizen Service
Centre/Public Library in Hanmer located at 4100 Elmview Drive.
Citizens will have an opportunity to meet new Fire Chief Donald
Donaldson, Acting General Manager of Emergency Services Tim Beadman and
representatives from Emergency Medical Services and Emergency
Preparedness.
"Paramedics and firefighters are often the first contact in the
event of an emergency, due to an illness, accident, fire or natural
disaster," said Councillor Ron Dupuis. "They play a critical
role in our community."
Said Deputy Mayor Portelance: "The City’s emergency services
staff are highly trained individuals who are dedicated to protecting the
safety, health, well being and property of citizens. We encourage everyone
to attend the upcoming forum."
