YOUR
PROFESSIONAL
FOOTCARE
SPECIALIST
"Regular footcare provided by a professional can
prevent complications of diabetes and peripheral vascular
disease. It can also improve your quality of life,"
explained Linda when discussing the importance of footcare.
"Footcare is the care of the feet including
inspection of the skin of the feet and legs, cutting of the
nails, reduction of thick nails, care of callouses, corns
and ingrown toenails," she continued. "As a
Professional Footcare Specialist, I am more interested in
the medical aspect of caring for your feet, while
pedicurists are more interested in esthetics. I do not paint
nails. I look at your feet to see if you have any health
problems and then I provide you with a treatment to help
improve the condition of your feet and help prevent
problems."
Candidates for footcare by a professional include people
with diabetes; those with poor circulation; people with
anticoagulants; and people with heart disease.
There may be many reasons for visiting a footcare
specialist like Linda Beswick. For some people with poor
eyesight, Linda is able to help them take care of their
regular maintenance. Others may be unable to reach their
feet for a variety of reasons. Some have numbness in their
feet and some simply lack the proper tools to cut their own
toenails.
Linda follows the Health Canada Guidelines for Footcare
Professionals, so you know you are getting the best possible
care when you visit Beswick Footcare Clinic. Linda
encourages everyone to consider setting up a regular
footcare program through her office. She also takes blood
pressure readings whenever she sees a client, just to make
sure that everything is going well. |
