"Food With Attitude"

AT CRANKY JOES ROADHOUSE RESTAURANT WE UNDERSTAND HOW TO MAKE FAMILIES FEEL WELCOME

Being co-owners of two Cranky Joe’s restaurants doesn’t leave them with much spare time, but Rob and Cristina Ferrucci still find time to capture a few quiet moments to enjoy dinner as a family with their 4-year old daughter, Vanessa.

“I’ve learned through the years that in order to be successful in this business you have to become an integral part of the community and be prepared to give something back,” Rob commented. “That is why I love getting involved in so many community events and activities, especially when they raise money for worthy causes.”

Indeed, in the four years since Rob and Cristina purchased the original Cranky Joe’s on Notre Dame in Sudbury, they have helped raise close to $50,000 for organizations like the Christmas Telethon, Sudbury Sledge Hockey, and the Penhellnic Soccer Club to name a few. Cranky Joe’s is a proud sponsor of numerous minor and adult sports teams such s the team he sponsored in the Valley East Mixed Slo-Pitch League which is shown below during their playoff weekend.

He is also more than generous when it comes to providing gift certificates and other assistance to just about all good wholesome community causes

Born and raised in Sudbury , Rob entered the food business at a young age when he landed a manager’s position at a pizzeria in New York City . After working in the Big Apple for two years he headed off to Italy where he spent another year and a half in the pizza business. Upon returning home he purchased the Northern Ontario rights to Square Boy Pizza and for the next fifteen years built his network up to eleven stores in total.

When he met and married Cristina, he decided to get out of the pizza business and help his father-in-law, Joe Rossi, run Gilmour’s for three years. Eventually the opportunity came along for he and his wife to purchase Cranky Joe’s for themselves and the rest is history.

Now, four years later, Rob felt it was time to open a second location and he couldn’t be happier with his new spot at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre. “I am so pleased with everything about the new restaurant. Right from the day I took over on May 28 everything has gone exactly as I would have hoped. The customers are incredible and the staff is terrific. I love the community.
Valley East has so much to offer and I intend to do my part to make everyone stand up and take notice of this part of the City of Greater Sudbury over the next few years.”

Nothing pleases Rob and Cristina more than seeing families sitting down to a great meal at either of their Cranky Joe's Restaurants, on Notre Dame Avenue in Sudbury or at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre in Hanmer.

As proud parents themselves, Rob and Cristina understand what other parents are looking for when they come to a restaurant with their children. That is why everyone is absolutely impressed with the children's menu, special drinking cups and after-dinner treats that make every member of the family feel welcome.

Rob and Cristina invite everyone to stop by and allow the staff to serve you and your family. See what it is like to eat a restaurant that serves "Food With Attitude".
