When
Marianne McGinn was informed that she had won first prize in a
Mothers’ Day contest that her children had entered, she was thrilled.
But when she actually experienced the “prize” - a day spa pampering,
all she could say was, “It’s to die for!”.
Barbara
Quilty, shown in the photo with Marianne, provided her with a seven hour
treatment which included: a facial; a spa manicure; a pedicure;
hydrating eye treatment; paraffin wax treatment of her hands and feet;
make-up application; a massage; a lunch with organic baby greens,
homemade raspberry vinegrettes, mandarin orange drink and herbal tea;
aromatherapy; all done in an atmosphere filled with relaxing music. It
was a day fit for a queen! The total value of the treatment was over
$400.
The
contest was held by Dr. Claudio Candusso and the treatment was performed
right in his office on June 2. Barbara is with the Academy of
hairstyling and Aesthetics in Sudbury and is planning on opening
practice in Valley East in the near future. This was the first time that
Marianne has ever had a spa treatment, but judging from her reaction, it
may not be the last.
Marianne,
who works at the Taxation Centre in Sudbury, is an executive with the
Valley East Waves Swim Club, responsible for travel and uniform coordination. Her children, Logan (12) and Sheldon (9) wrote
the following letter to Dr.
Candusso explaining why their mother was the best:
|
“Our
mom is the best because...she is a mother that attends all of our
activities even if they’re the boringest thing in the world.
|
|
Our
mom is the best because...she knows we need to go to certain places at
certain times so she is very accurate with being on time.
|
|
Our
mom is the best because...she is always helping us with our homework,
projects, thinking things through and our problems.
|
|
Our
mom is the best because...whenever we need things it’s always there at
the end of the day (or week) if we ask. She’s always running around
for us.
|
|
Our
mom is the best because...she is (or was) always there for us when
we’re hurt, littler to the age we are now.
|
|
Our
mom is the best because...she is a person that always helps us learn
lessons in life.
|
To
us our mother means...
M
- magnificent mother
O
- official #1 mom (mother)
T
- teaches us lessons in life
H
- happy to lend a hand
E
- enthusiastic to share with us
R
- really helpful
We
are so glad and grateful we have a mother to love and have like herself,
We would not have it any other way.
Love
you Mom.
Logan
and Sheldon
Congratulations to Logan and
Sheldon for writing such a wonderful contest entry. And congratulations
to Marianne McGinn, who is a changed woman now that she has experienced
the wonders of the “Day Spa Pampering”.
