The smiling faces in the photo belong to the winners of the 2001 Walden Tyke Tournament. Valley East’s Bran Kor Trophies outscored their opposition 40 to 2 in the four games they played, and won handily with a 6 to 0 victory over Rayside Balfour #4 Caisse in the championship game. Gabriel Despatie had the hat-trick (3 goals) while Mathieu Renaud with 2 and Maxim Veilleux added a single. Hustler of the Championship game was Brandon Legault while MVP honours went to Gabriel Despatie, who scored a grand total of 15 goals during the weekend.
