Marie Lefebvre Is A "Superstar". Has 129,067 Reasons To Play Bingo

Marie Lefebvre, shown in the centre of the photo, has plenty to smile about these days. On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, when the 43rd ball was called out at the Valley Bingo Hall in Val Caron, Marie became the 3rd Major Superstar Winner from this facility.

A special celebration was held at Valley Bingo on March 27, when Peter Hum, of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation presented Marie with her cheque for $129,067.52. Peter is shown on the right in the photo.

For Marie, the win was such a shock that she and her friends stayed and played the late night bingo as well since they knew that they couldn’t sleep.

Since its inception in 1997, Superstar Bingo, which is operated in 172 bingo halls across Ontario,  has awarded approximately $1.14 million to players in Val Caron. In addition, more than $340,000 in funding from Superstar Bingo has been given to local charities affiliated with Valley Bingo. Across the province over $100 million in prizes and $50 million to charities has been generated through Superstar Bingo.

Therese Ouellette was the first Superstar Jackpot winner at Valley Bingo on July 1, 1998, when she struck pay dirt with a win of $232,730.78.

Darlene Whealy was next on February 4, 2000, when she won the jackpot of $117,470.32.

According to Peter Hum, Marie Lefebvre’s win on the 43rd ball called was one of the lowest ball counts ever recorded.
