Lisa Froemmel, owner of Pet Palace urges her customers to
pick up their 2006 Dog and Cat registration tags before the end of
January. After January 31 it will cost $10 more to get the tag so if you
own a dog or cat, it simply makes sense to register early.
This is the 3rd year that Pet Palace has been taking registrations.
"We are glad to provide this service to the community,"
explained Lisa. "It is much more convenient for a person to drop in
and pick up the license when you come by to pick up your pet supplies, or
if you are in the mall for any other reason."
It only takes a few minutes to fill out the form and there is no
identification necessary.
Under the current City of Greater Sudbury Animal Control Bylaw, each
household is limited to a maximum of two dogs or a combined total of four
cats and dogs. It is estimated that one third of all pets will be lost at
least once in their lifetime, but if they're wearing a valid registration
tag, the City of Greater Sudbury will give them a free ride home the first
time they are caught roaming. However, if your pet doesn't have a tag, the
fine is $105.
