Debbie Edwardson, Coordinator of the Val Caron site,
indicated that the crowd on Saturday, May 13, 2006 was the largest she had
ever witnesses since this event began 18 years ago.
Last year the event raised $1.55 million for the CCFC. This year's goal
was $1.75 million.
Since 1989, M&M MEAT SHOPS Franchisees, Product Consultants,
customers and volunteers have raised more than $10 million for the CCFC
through various charitable initiatives.
More than 175,000 Canadians are affected by either Crohn's disease or
ulcerative colitis and this number is rapidly growing. There is no known
cure.
Visitors shown in the crowd above were treated to a hamburger or hot
dog, a drink and a bag of chips for a minimum donation of $2.00. All
product and time is donated, so every penny raised goes directly to CCFC
for its research programs.
