The Knights of Columbus Council 5005 will be holding a yard sale event on Saturday, April 1 at the K of C Hall on Emily Street in Hanmer.

Trouble Being Experienced By Private Pension Plans Is A Trend We Must Watch Carefully
Senior federal regulators have warned Finance Minister Jim Flaherty that the financial health of many private pension plans is worsening. It appears as if some pension plans may even be given permission to reduce benefits that were previously promised to retirees. Apparently almost 72% of private pension plans were less than fully funded as of June 2005. To show how many are close to the limit, just six months earlier only 53% were in that position. Jeff Masciangelo was born in 1974 and was raised in Valley East where he attended elementary school at St. Anne and then went to St. Charles College in Sudbury. His youth included playing hockey for the NOHA in the Valley from Novice to Midget. He and his wife, Sarah (Antonioni) now live in Val Caron.
