The Chevrier family would like to express sincere appreciation to everyone who sent their condolences following Antoinette Chevrier’s tragic accidental death on August 21. Your letters, gifts and kind words helped the members of the family get through this very difficult time. Rolly and Henri have decided that the best way to honour the memory of their  parents, Antoinette, and Lucien, who passed away in 1992 and was elected to the Valley East Sports Hall of Fame in 1998,  is to announce the official re-opening of Lucien’s Gym to the public effective October 3, 2001. An estimated 10,000 people have used the facility since it first opened in 1959, and now, thousands more men and women will be able to enjoy unlimited use of the roomy training area, weight and cardio equipment, and shower facilities. Once thought of as a sport for “muscle-men”, fitness training has seen a tremendous increase in popularity among all people of all ages, and the staff at Lucien’s Gym are committed to making sure that everyone feels welcome and comfortable when they join their club. Membership fees, with tax included, are only $19.99 for one month; $49.99 for three months; $89.99 for six months; and $149.99 for one year. Prices are the same for adults and students. Day passes are only $5.00. All fees permit unlimited use of the facilities, seven (7) days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Members are welcome to drop in any time and stay as long as they like. A certified trainer is available upon request at the rate of $19.99 for a one hour session, including a training manual. All new members under 18 require a training session by the certified trainer before purchasing a membership. As well, anyone under 16 must be trained and be accompanied by an adult or training privileges will be denied. Weight loss diets are also available.
