On
June 2, 18-year old Stefanie Lachance, will wear the Miss Capreol banner
when she steps onto the stage during the Miss Northern Ontario Canada
Pageant which is being held at the Howard Johnson Conference Centre
(former Four Points Hotel) in Sudbury.
Stefanie
won the title of Miss Capreol this past winter. She will compete with 27
other contestants from all over the north in a series of activities
which will determine the person who will be crowned Miss Northern
Ontario. The competition includes a personal interview; public speaking;
modelling; a fitness test; and runway performances. The winner will be
the person who is deemed to be the all-round candidate.
Stefanie
is the daughter of Mike and Denise Lachance of Capreol. She attends
Grade 12 at Ecole Secondaire Hanmer, where she is president of the
student council, vice-president of her athletic association, has been
named athlete of the year from 1998-2000 and in spite of her busy
schedule has maintained honour roll standing throughout her high school
career. She holds her black belt in wado kai karate and is an instructor
in the sport. Stefanie is a referee with the Valley East Basketball
League and holds down a part-time job.
This
exceptional young lady is not only rich in her accomplishments but is
equally rich in personality, charm and charisma. The community of
Capreol proudly sends Stefanie as their representative in the Miss
Northern Ontario Canada Pageant, wishing her the best of luck in her
endeavours.
