Debbie Edwardson, on the far
left front, was the co-ordinator of the Val Caron Site. There were three
different sites in all in the City of Greater Sudbury, including one on
Paris Street and one on Lasalle Blvd. Over 100 volunteers from the three
stores raised a total of $5781.43. M & M Meat Shops provide all of
the materials and food while the CCFC provides the manpower. The money raised from this
event is used to fund research into the inflammatory bowel diseases for
which there is no known cause and no cure as of yet. It strikes people
of all ages and lately has been occurring in more and more young babies
around the world. Sharon Hogan has been a
member of the Sudbury Chapter for five years and is completing her 2nd
year as Chapter President. The next major fund raiser
for the group is the Heel & Wheel-a-thon, scheduled for Sunday, June
10 at Lilly Creek in Sudbury. You can find out more about these diseases by visiting the Foundation web site at www.ccfc.ca or by calling (705) 674-2233. |
