The 1^st Annual Sudbury Easton Connexion/Kin Club of Valley East Mixed Sno-Pitch Tournament was held on March 4 at the Blezard Valley Kin Park. Four teams of men and women who have had enough of this long, cold winter, braved blizzard conditions in this one day event.

After four gruelling contests, knee deep in jagged ice chunks, the Flaming Moe’s emerged as champions in the tournament which turned out to be an endurance competition as much as a game of skill.

The victorious squad is shown in the accompanying photo. The members of the team, in no particular order according to the picture, included: Bart Hurley, Marco and Shana Smith, Julie Leger-DiMaio, Joey DiMaio, Danielle Loiselle, Sue Lafortune, Dean and Renee Spotswood, and Andrea and Tracey Valenius.

The Flaming Moe’s downed the ALP’s in the championship final. Members of the ALP’s included: Al, Pauline and Melanie  Pelletier, Al Soucy, Luc Guenette, Melanie Brisson, Shanda Signoretti, Jen Laundry and Jay MacIsaac.

The Love Shackers, consisting of: Gerry & Debbie Read, Rick & Donna Jutras, Mike & Nick Delarosbil, Laurie & Mike Henri, Ron Mrocher, Cindy Gauvin, Lizette Giroux and Don Bruneau, and The Connexion, consisting of: Mark & Dana Piazza, Mike Lacasse, Warren Kirwan, Dave Morrison, Jen Gauthier, Lyane Bariette, Stephanie Dowling and Chantelle Lapierre were the other two teams in the tournament..
