Congratulations go out from all residents of the community to Kara Cormier, the new Miss Valley East 2001. Kara, a nineteen year old student from St. Charles college who plans on becoming a high school Teacher, was crowned during a special event held at the Golden Age Club in Azilda. She competed against nine other girls in a contest which included a 200 word essay on “How to save the environment for the future generations”, a written interview questionnaire, a private interview with three judges and a public speaking stage presentation. Kara is a great athlete who enjoys all sports and is a super fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
