Close to 100 snowmobile enthusiasts are expected to take part in the 3rd Annual Exploration Run sponsored by the Valley Trail Masters Snowmobile Club this weekend. The 150 mile trip will begin on Saturday, February 17 and end up at the Elliot Lake Algo Inn where participants will spend the night and then head back the following morning. The cost of the event is $10 per person for registration and $65 per person for accommodation, dinner and breakfast. Registration forms are available at Larry’s Snowmobile in Val Caron. The number of entries are unlimited and as the years go by, more and more people are using this weekend as one of their winter vacation choices. The first year the Exploration Run was held there were only about 20 participants. This year the total will approach 100 by the time the machines begin their long trek to Elliot Lake. Once in Elliot Lake the group will spend the evening in celebration of one of the best winters in recent memory for this popular sport. The weather conditions are expected to be ideal this year for the trip. The Valley Trail Masters includes approximately 450 members this season.
