On July 6, 2000 two members of the Valley East Waves Swim Club and their coach took to the skies and flew to the Junior Provincial Long Course Championships in Thunder Bay. Jamie Ellerton and Beau Lacroix represented the Waves at the All Ontario, age sixteen and under Swim Meet. Jamie Ellerton made finals and placed 6th and 8th in 100m Backstroke and 200m Backstroke respectively. Beau Lacroix made consolation finals in 100m Breastroke and placed 15th. What a great way to end their swim season. They have enjoyed the rest of the summer off and will be heading back to the Valley East Recreation Centre in Mid-September to start another season.
