Stacy Levac Wins Club Championship In Tiger Woods Style

Stacey Levac took a chapter out of the Tiger Woods book recently as he captured the Millennium Mens’ Club Championship at Clearview Golf & Country Club. Levac destroyed the course in establishing a new competitive club single round record of three under par, 69 on the first day of play. The six stroke lead was the largest first round margin ever recorded in the annual competition to determine bragging rights for the year. He then played conservatively on the second day, shooting a 79, for a 36-hole total of 148, to maintain his six stroke win over runner-up Tim Gordon, who fired the second day low score of 78. In setting the new record, Levac recorded an even par, 34, over the front nine, then managed to come home with a three under par 35 on the back nine. Mike Abresch shaved down Levac’s lead to a mere four strokes after 27 holes, but couldn’t continue the challenge during the final nine holes. For his win, Levac was awarded with a 2001 membership.
